Citizen of the World (COW) was founded in the spring of 2009 when co-founders
Tate Koenig and Keegan Warrington first discovered the Africa Rally.
The Africa Rally was a car rally from London, England to Kribi, Cameroon.
Throughout the rally, the COW team members would face everything from scorching
deserts to tropical jungles and that was just the kind of extreme charitable
opportunity they were looking for! Within days, the entry fee was paid and
Keegan had checked “How to Start a Non-Profit in Oregon” out from the library,
COW was born. Thanks to the outstanding help and support from family and friends,
the idea of COW and the Africa Rally grew into a reality.
COW is a student organized non-profit corporation focused on increasing global
awareness and social responsibility among students.
Our objective is to send “HERDS” of students around the globe to volunteer
and promote proactive efforts towards humanitarian and sustainability focused
projects. We believe that education, volunteering, and travel builds globally
conscious citizens who care about our planets future. The world is one big pasture
that we, our children, and our grandchildren all have to share. Become a COW today
and take a step forward in supporting our cause for future generations.
