COW goes to Nicaragua!
For the next year, Oregon State student Austin Fricker will be living in the
country of Nicaragua volunteering with local citizens to help develop sustainable
farming and living practices.
Having been to Nicaragua three times, and majoring in Crop and Soil Sciences, Austin is more than
prepared for the difficulties and challenges he is about to face. Through processes of crop rotation,
natural fertilizers, and the introduction of new farming techniques, Austin hopes to help develop local
farms into not only sustainable, but profitable ones as well.
Austin will be blogging along the way as well as uploading pictures and stories so keep checking back to hear
about his progress! To see his blog or make a donation, please check out "Project Nicaragua" in the COW Projects section.
